Burn off steam
Feed the ducks and have a swing at Cook Park, roam free in the Botanic Gardens, swim at the aquatic centre of Lake Canobolas and if you are here on the second Saturday of the month ride the miniature steam railway from 1pm in Matthews Park.
For kids with ‘wheels’ there is a BMX track and the Orange’s John Lomas Skate Park features bowls, a pyramid jump, spine and grind block plus box and rails. There’s also cycling trails to Lake Canobolas and around the paths of Gosling Creek Reserve. Inviting indoors For indoor fun try tenpin bowling, amusement centre, movies and indoor play centres.
Stories of Orange, NSW
With a start in a tin shed in 1946, the founder of D’Aquino Bros Pty Ltd, Carmelo D’Aquino, produced six barrels of wine and started the first winemaking family in the Orange district. His grandson Rex is now the third generation to run the D’Aquino wine business – a vast commercial operation which has expanded considerably since the tin shed days and incorporates the Highland Heritage Estate vineyard as well as a distillery, wholesale and contract bottling and retail outlets throughout country NSW.read more
